On May 23, thousands of Southern Mongolians, led by students, took to the streets of Shiliinhot. Protests demanding the Chinese government respect the rights of Southern Mongolian herders quickly spread across Southern Mongolia.
Students as young as 12 along with herdsmen held banners reading, “defend the rights of Mongols” and “defend the homeland,” and shouted slogans as they marched to Government offices.
These protests erupted after a 100-ton coal-hauling truck owned by a Chinese company crushed a local herdsman, named Mergen. “These coal-hauling trucks have randomly run over local herders’ grazing lands…killing numerous heads of livestock… [and] further damaging the already-weakened fragile grassland,” wrote the Mongolian blogger Zorigt. . His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama spoke out against China's forced nomad resettlement at the Kalachakra teachings in Bodh Gaya in early 2012. In a rare audience with Tibetans from Tibet, the Dalai Lama urged China's leaders to “instead of forcefully resettling them, building of hospitals and schools for the nomads around their grazing areas would be more constructive.”

Please give them peace and allow them to live the way they have been living for so long ago, respect the rights of Southern Mongolian herders.
Blessings to the Tibetan nomads and all of you seeking to be free. I see how the Native people of my country have been treated and it makes me sad for all of you. Keep the dream alive-Tibet will once again be free.
Defend the rights of the Mongols and their land!
Defend the rights of the Mongols and their land.
Please stand up and vote. They did this to Native Americans ….let’s not allow them to do this to Tibetans!!!! Stand up!!!
Free Tibet, and defend the rights of the Mongols and their land.
Please free Tibet, all human have the right to be free and live according to their traditions and not to be prisioners in a foreign country.
Please, please protect the democratic rights of minority groups whose way of life, culture and livelihoods are being threatened to the point of extinction by the overriding greed and expansionism of larger nation states. Surely the role of the UN is precisely to stand up for and protect peoples throughout the world in this way?
Please act now before it is too late. Even endangered animal species enjoy greater protection than small communities like this.
This appears to be China’s “Final Solution” to killing off millions of Tibetans (and any possibile offspring or continuation of their age old linages) forever. Just look at those rows of ugly cement buildings– like a concentration camp. Kill Tibetans’ lifestyle, kill their livelihoods, kill their spirits, and turn them into basket cases who will then be totally pliable and totally dependent upon the Chinese government (IF they can adapt and survive). Shame on China! This is GENOCIDE and CLASS WARFARE!!!*@#!!!!!!

How dare they do this? How can this news just be pushed under the rug? What has the world become? Free the Nomads and let them live their own lifestyle. Who are they to force them around, how are they superior to anyone else. We are all equal and it should stay that way. We are able to make our own decisions. Let them not be pushed around. Let them be once again free people. Let them be Nomads . . .
